Some families in Gascony still raise pigs for their own consumption. The pig is washed before being butchered. This pig is blisfully unaware of what is to come.
'Chair de poule' is the French equivalent of goose bumps. Playing on the word chair/chaise, this one is not happy about being plucked and now someone has already taken her place.
Hunting, shooting and fishing are this Gascon's daily bread. Shoot first, ask the neighbours for dinner afterwards. His white van, rifle and dog are never far away.
Reproduced as giclée print in various sizes, some with mounts.
